Who we are

Verity Church is a Christ-centered community committed to worship, growing in faith,
and living out God’s Word through expository preaching and gospel-centered teaching.

Where God leads

Verity Church was established in 2020 through the joyful union of two churches. What began during a unique season quickly became a testimony to God’s provision and purpose. As part of the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada, Verity is rooted in a wider movement of churches following Jesus and living out His mission. From the very beginning, He has guided our steps and grown our faith. Today, we continue to move forward with hope and confidence, seeking His will together as a united church family.

We’d love for you to be part of what God is doing.

Living the gospel together

Guiding What We Believe and Do:

  • The Bible — God’s true and trustworthy Word, our foundation for life

  • Christ-Centered Living — Loving God with everything we are

  • Dependence on God — Trusting Him fully in every circumstance

  • Prayer — Central to all we do, both personally and as a church

  • Equipping Believers — Helping every person discover their God-given purpose

  • Missions — Sharing Jesus with the world through giving, praying, and going

Living Out Our Faith Together:

  • Loving Relationships — A community built on care, acceptance, and grace

  • Worship — Joyful, contemporary, and centered on the greatness of God

  • Active Participation — Everyone has a role in building up the church

  • Community Outreach — Serving the Lincoln Heights neighbourhood with the love of Christ

  • Family Ministry — Caring for every generation, from nursery to adults

God and His Will: We believe in one eternal God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; who created and sustains all things. He calls people to Himself and sends them into the world to serve, witness, and reflect His Kingdom. Though we sometimes fall short, the gospel remains a powerful treasure we are committed to sharing by the Spirit’s power.

Isaiah 40:28; Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 1:11

Jesus Christ:
Jesus is both fully God and fully human; the eternal Son of God, born of the virgin Mary. He came to reveal the Father, announce the arrival of God’s Kingdom with word, miracles, and deeds, and to offer Himself up as a sinless atoning sacrifice for the sins of the world. He was physically raised from the dead and then exalted to the right hand of the Father.

In fulfilling the earthly mission of His first coming, Jesus demonstrated a life of victory on our behalf over Satan and sin, provided the only way for people to be rescued from sin, and opened the way to live a holy life as participants in the Kingdom of God. He continues now as the only Mediator between God and humanity. Jesus will, at the Father’s appointed time, come again in power and glory.

Matthew 1:18–25; 4:17, 4:23;  John 1:1–18; 6:37–47; 10:10; 14:6; 1 Corinthians 15:3–8; Hebrews 4:14–15; 9:14–15; Ephesians 4:11–16; 1 Timothy 2:4–6a.

The Bible: We believe that the Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy, and the only final authority in all matters of faith and conduct. The Bible, as originally written under the inspiration and supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit by human authors, is the Word of God, the supreme source of truth for Christian belief. The Bible reveals who God is, exposes who we are in light of His holiness, proclaims God’s merciful salvation, and teaches and trains Christ’s followers how to grow in relationship with God and others.

Psalms 119:105; Matthew 4:4; John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:20–21

The Human Condition: We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and from His purpose for our lives. But through Jesus, God made a way back.

To receive forgiveness and new life, we must repent of our sins, believe in Jesus, and submit to His will. This is the beginning of a new birth—life in Christ.

Romans 3:23; Acts 2:38; John 3:3

The Church
: We believe the Church is God’s family on earth; called to worship, grow in faith, break bread together, pray, and serve others. Every believer is uniquely equipped by God to contribute to the Church’s mission and bless their community.

Acts 2:42–47; 1 Corinthians 12:12–27; Ephesians 4:11–13

Our global outreach

At Verity Church, we are committed to supporting gospel-centered missions around the world. Through prayer, financial support, and hands-on service, we partner with ministries and families in Guyana, Colombia, Mexico, Iran, Nigeria and Canada.

Our desire is to come alongside local churches and missionaries who are faithfully serving their communities with the love of Christ. This includes sending financial aid to meet daily needs, supporting ongoing ministry efforts, and helping families in vulnerable situations. Whenever possible, we also send mission teams to work on the ground; offering practical help like repairing homes, supporting local outreach, and encouraging believers face to face. It’s a privilege to walk with them and be part of what God is doing in these places.
